More pix of my craft/sewing room

showing top shelf of my bookcase.....

Photobucket

My sewing side. My DD drew/coloured the picture on the wall, for Mother's Day. It says: "Linda's craft/sewing room". She was a young teen when she created it.

CD case, I got on eBay, that houses my sewing design cards. (where you see CARDS, these are actual li'l spots for pix, but I used letters instead)

My ATG storage unit

Photobucket
This was originally a hairdryer/curling iron holder and has now been repurposed as my ATG gun and adhesive roll holder.

My brad, eyelet, misc. storage

Unit was purchased at Home Hardware (in Canada). I'm sure you can find this, or something similar, at either WalMart or any hardware store.

My Cuddlebug Folder storage...

3-ring zippered binder.....
Photobucket

Can't really see it in the pic, but I have pix of each folder
-- in the middle of each page
Photobucket

The pic of each large folder is in the bottom inside corners
[again, a li'l hard to see properly. Sorry! :-( ]

Ruler of the Roost

Would like to share w/ you, the "Ruler of the Roost/Craft Room"
(at least SHE thinks she is!!!!)

Photobucket

None other than.................. "Maxine". lol

My Slice storage unit

I couldn't justify spending $80.00 for the storage unit for the Slice machine & accessories unit.
Photobucket

Instead, I got this zippered case for basically next to nothing. It even has a "ladybug" on it! lol
Photobucket

The main section houses the Slice machine, adapter, and embossing tips.
Photobucket

The inside lid houses the manual, blades, adhesive, applicator, and spatula.
Photobucket

I did get the design card unit but, because it was designed for the design cards to be placed in the li'l pouches w/out the plastic container, I chose to keep the design cards in the plastic containers (for more protection) and just place in the other pouches. (each to their own, tho!) :-)

Pine desk

DH found this desk for me at Goodwill for only $20.00. It has a flip-top lid w/ storage inside.my new (new to me -- it's 2nd hand and was only $20.00) desk. It has a flip-top for extra storage. Inside is also a roll of paper that rolls through a slit.

It has a li'l slit in it, whereby I pull thru a roll of newsprint, used for messy crafting. lol

Room Layout

Here's a layout of my craft/sewing room. It's approx. 10 ft. x 12 ft. I have two desks, one table, one sewing cabinet, one bookcase, one corner unit cabinet, one two-door cabinet, 4 cubbies, one glass door cabinet, one paper rack, one closet. There's even a filing rolling tote under the desk. It's totally amazing what can fit into that room! LOL
BTW -- even tho it is shown in brown, every item in the room is white w/ the exception of one desk (it's a light pine). In my next post, I'll show you what the pine colour desk looks like.
Whilst looking at the picture above:-
You enter the room in the lower right-hand corner. There's a window on the left side, with a table in front of it, and a closet (w/ the doors removed) in the upper right-hand corner. The white units are the cubbies. The bookcase is in the upper left-hand corner. Right in front of the bookcase is my paper rack that DH put together for me, via using wire shelving kits. The two-door cabinet is on the right side, as you enter the room. Beside it is another cubby w/ a phone on it and right beside that is a CD case that houses my embroidery design cards. Behind the door I have a pegboard w/ various items hanging from it, one of which is a curtain rod that holds my border punches. The sewing cabinet (Horn) is to the left as you enter the room. It houses my embroidery machine and serger. It has a back fliptop to make the table larger. (love it!)
Oops, I see I forgot to include my rolling drawer unit that houses my Stampin' Up stamps and other misc. items. It's on the left-hand side, just as you enter the room (beside the sewing cabinet) Behind that is a metal shelf unit that houses my Slice design card boxes & other misc. items. The design cards are now housed in the Slice zippered case (will describe in another post) but the boxes are still sitting on the shelf LOL.
Hope this helps at least "one person" show how they can design/have a craft space like this or similar. ;-)

My messy craft/sewing room....

I hope these pix won't scare you away. LOL Just keep in mind that it will look a LOT different when it's all cleaned up! When this "phenomenon" occurs LOL, I'll share pix of that w/ you, too.

The reason it looks like this is because, when I first inherited this room (after DD moved out), I just basically threw everything in there, in no semblance of order. Can you tell? LOL

And the star of my blog is...........my Bailey Bud

Pix of when we first got him.
He's a "rescue" who was looking for his "forever home" and he definitely found it w/ me!! Actually, he rescued me instead of the other way around!

Cutting Above

OMG ---- have you heard the news????

There's a NEW KID IN TOWN --- "Cutting Above". It is THE new place for industry news, review information, tutorials, videos and just about anything else related to scrapbooking and die cut machines!! Could we ask for anything more??

Well, how about Provo Craft helping them celebrate their new launch, as well as their Grand Opening on HSN on Sept. 24th!! That's right. They have generously donated 2 Gypsies (the other NEW kid on the Provo Craft block!) to be given away. How absolutely cool is that, eh? (can you tell I'm a Canadian ---- with my "eh" comment??!!) LOL

Be sure to check out their website:- http://cuttingabove.blogspot.com/
You can also click on their blinkie at the top of this post.

Cricut Supervisor

Photobucket

Introduction

Welcome to Ladybug Lair. My name is Linda.

My main purpose for my blog (for now, anyway) is to showcase my love of the Cricut and my new furbaby, Bailey.

I have always enjoyed a variety of crafting but, when ProvoCraft brought out the Cricut and its followers (Cricut Create, and the Cricut Expression), I was in "love" with paper crafting.

I didn't always have a craft room. My supplies were scattered from hither to yon, all over the house (much to my dear husband's dismay lol). When our daughter moved out, I inherited her bedroom and turned it into my craft/sewing room.

I would like to show you how you, too, can have a craft space --- no matter what size it is. My first pictures are when it's in its messiest state and then you will see it clean. Little problem, tho, in that it hasn't completely reached the "clean state" yet, so it will be a while before I can show you those. LOL

I even hired someone (Cricut Supervisor) to "get my act into gear" to clean my room, but I just chose to ignore him. LOL

So, pull up a chair, grab a cup of jo and I hope you enjoy checking out by blog.
