Mystery Surprise:- revealed!!

My "mystery surprise". . . . . . finally revealed:-

What is one of the latest crazes?  You may have seen it on Pinterest or maybe on someone’s blog?  Your fav. Message Board may be discussing it.

Well, it’s Washi Tape, that’s what!!  --- a Japanese masking tape printed on rice paper.  It comes in all sorts of yummy colors and patterns and it’s repositionable; hence, reusable.

Did you catch my previous clues:-  tape my mouth shut; red tape LOL

There’s a “new kid in town” called Downtape Tape. They offer Washi Tape at the amazing price of $1.99 per roll! At that price, you can afford to have as many colors, designs, and patterns as you like! And flat rate shipping means you pay that shipping price, no matter how many rolls you order!  Here's their website:-  http://www.downtowntape.com/
If you’re not quite sure what you could use Washi Tape for, here are some ideas.

Downtown Tape also has a great incentive when you sign up, on their site, for their Newsletter, where you can find out about new designs, sales and specials.  You also get a free sheet of gift tags that are designed for a fun  Washi splash.  Valued at $10.00!

Now, for my mega BIG mystery surprise ---- You can WIN some Washi Tape.  You will receive 10 rolls of tape, plus 25 tags to beautify.  How cool is that, eh??

How can you win?  Check out the Rafflecopter form below.

Give-away will end on Friday, September 7th.  Winner will be announced on Saturday, September 8th, and emailed.   Winner will have 48 hours to claim their prize.  Open to “everyone”.  You don’t need to be a follower of my blog, but I would love it, if you were.  Best of luck!!!

My "Cricut Angel"

Made this card for a very special MB friend, Anne, who I call my "Cricut Angel" because she gave me a Cricut cartridge, completely gratis.  How sweet was that, eh?  So, I made her this card and a desk plaque.  J

Inside:-

Desk Plaque

Tools/Items:-
Cricut Expression 2
Cricut Cartridges: see below
Cardstock – white; green; black
Patterned Paper
Martha Stewart Punch Set – Modern Garland
Stickles – Diamond; and Gold
Glue – ATG; Zig Two-Way
Rhinestones
Pop Dots

Cricut Cartridges:
Cricut Decals (Expression 2 exclusive) – Cricut and layers
Just a Note (Expression 2 exclusive) – Thank You

Make a card base by folding an 8 ½” x 11” piece of cardstock, in half.

Using patterned paper (5” x 8”), punch corners and borders with the Martha Stewart Modern Garland punch set.

Cut the Cricut Angel, and layers, from p. 28 of the Cricut Decals built-in cartridge. (, Cricut Heads).  Stickle the wings and halo with Diamond Stickles.

Attach the Cricut Angel with pop dots.

Add computer-generated sentiments.

Inside of the card:
Cut a background from the patterned paper and punch out the corners using the Martha Stewart punch.
Cut a “Thank You” and layers from p. 37 of the Just a Note built-in cartridge. (Pinwheel, Phrase Layer)

Stickle the “a”, “o” and “u” layers with Gold Stickles.  Attach a rhinestone in the “o”.

I also created a desk plaque:-  Honorary Angel.

Honorary was computer-generated, using the CK Celebration font.
The angel wings image was clipart found on the Net.

Stickled the halo with Gold Stickles.  Attached a little star to it.

Heard back from Anne and she loved them both, which made me very happy.  J

Made this card for a dear MB friend’s granddaughter.  J

 Inside:-

I actually learned something, whilst making this card, and wanted to share.  Did you know that this cartridge has a silhouette feature?

I’ve always known a silhouette to be an image of a person, an object or scene represented as a solid shape of a single color, usually black.  Like this:-

Well, when I cut out the silhouette image, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it was just a black outline.  Like this:-

When placed on the blackout image, it was really easy to insert the layers ---- just like a puzzle.

Can’t wait to play w/ the other images on this cartridge, using the silhouette feature.  J

Tools/Items:-
Cricut Imagine
Cricut Imagine Cartridge:- Blossom
Cricut Cartridges: see below
Cardstock -- white (for the Imagine)
Glue – ATG; regular

Cricut Cartridges:
Hello Kitty – kitty
Beyond Birthdays – get well soon
