The many faces of Li'l Bailey....

As a mother will sometimes do --- I was looking back on baby pix of li'l Bailey. Well, baby pix to me --- we got him when he was 1 1/2 yrs. old.

Anyway, here are the many faces/characters of li'l Bailey. :-)

Bailey's grooming day

Well, Bailey had his "grooming day" today. Here's a "before" pic of him:-

They were doing something "different" at the groomers, this time. You didn't have to leave w/ the pup you came in with. Sooooo, I chose this one. . .

Ain't he a cutey?? Fooled you! It's actually li'l Bailey. I would never trade him in on another pup!!!

Notice his li'l legs?? It's called a "teddy bear trim". I LOVE it!! as I do him!!! :-)

CRICUT FONT Chart

Have you ever wanted to have a chart that shows, at one fell swoop, all (or most) of the Cricut fonts available? Well, want no more because I created one, that I'd like to share w/ my blogger friends! :-)

New schtuff......

I got some new schtuff that I'm very excited about.......

Found this at the $ store. Ain't it just the cutest thing ever --- for a "Ladybug" like myself??? Now, I can sweep up my li'l scrap materials, in style. :-)



Then........was searching our "Used onsite" (just on a whim) and I found this adorable thread holder. But there's more to the story than just that. :-)



I was e-mailing the seller back/forth, not realizing that it was someone I actually knew from long time ago. When I pulled up at her house, & we saw each other, we had a good chuckle over it. Anyway, her hubby made this one but she had actually made one previously and created the pattern for it. It meant a whole lot more to me that it was handmade by her & her hubby.

It holds 40 spools of embroidery thread and all sorts of ideas have been swimming in my li'l head as to how to jazz it up. It's a fair size:- 24" x 18" (hence, li'l prob. as to where to put it). At first I hummed/hawwed about getting it, because I have noooooooowhere to put it, but hubby said I'd kick myself if I didn't get it, and I'm soooooo glad I did now. Ain't it a beauty???

Cricut Solutions Box Covers

Do you have Cricut Solution cartridges and are wondering how to store them? If so, wonder no more. :-) I store mine in plastic, see-through VHS tape storage boxes, that I’ve made covers for.

If you don’t want to re-invent the wheel, please feel free to use the covers I made for my Solution Cartridges.

Just click on the links and the file(s) will download to your system. Once downloaded, just print off, cut around the border lines, and they will fit like a charm. Hope you like them. :-)

Because the Seasonal Limited Cartridges have their own front/back, I just made a sleeve with the name of the cart. on the spine.

What you're seeing here, is the back, spine and front of the cover. You fold it around the spine and it slips into the VHS box. Hope I explained it alright. :-)

Artistic angels at work.....

Couldn't resist taking this picture (@ 9:30 p.m.) and sharing it w/ you! The artistic angels were out in full swing. I guess their "day" work was done so they had some time to play in the sky! I just love looking at their masterpieces!!! :-) Gorgeous colours, eh??

Response to Idea Queen....

I thought I would respond to Idea Queen's query in an actual post, just in case others wanted to know. . . . . . . how I made my Cricut Bug, that's perched on top of my Cricut Cartridge Storage unit.

Here goes:-

Firstly, I used Cricut Design Studio, w/ the Cricut "Storefront" cartridge. I'm not sure whether other cart's have the Cricut bug, w/ the whole body. I know a few others have the Cricut head.

Anyway, I digress. lol

I plunked the Cricut bug body on the Cricut Design Studio mat. Copy/pasted it twice. For one of the designs, I used the "hide contour" for the mouth and two areas for the eyes. I cut this piece out of white cardstock, gluing the two other designs, which were cut out of neon green cardstock, in front and behind the white cardstock. Clear as mud?? LOL

I didn't want to use the "shadow" feature because it would've given me a white shadow around the whole body. I just wanted the white to show for the eyes and mouth, which worked like a charm! Then I glued the green eyes on top of the white eyes.

Hope this helps explain how Mr. Cricut came to be. :-)

Victoria welcomes the world

Six nations, 8,000 sailors took part in the Canadian Naval Centennial Fleet Review this week-end. A lot of fun things transpired.

Here's a synopsis:-


June 9th and 10th, 2010. Visiting naval ships arrived in Victoria, BC Canada. Thirteen ships represented countries from the Indo-Pacific region, such as France, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan, as well as the U.S. and, of course, Canada.


The 20 ships participating in Saturday's Fleet Review move from Esquimalt harbour to their anchorage spots off Colwood. . . . . .

Did you spot your Country's ship??

Everyone was totally in awe w/ the USS Ronald Reagan, it being the largest ship that took part in the Fleet Review. The ship is 333 metres long and has a crew of more than 5,000 sailors and 85 aircraft. Some of our News Reporters got to check it out in person and ride the aircraft elevator. They were totally mind-boggled by the whole experience.

June 11th, 2010, there was a "parade of Nations", down our Main Street. Later on, there was an evening firework's display.

June 12th, 2010, we had the famous Snowbirds perform their air show. They always put on an exciting air demonstration. Canadian Forces’ pilots and technicians thrill audience with their formations and tricks, getting up to speeds of 370 mph (590 km/h). In some formations, the jets get as close to each other as 1.2 m, demonstrating the supreme skill-level and precision of the pilots!


I didn’t get to see the air show this time (seen it many times, tho); however, on their way in to Victoria they flew, in their wonderful formation, right over our house. Poor li’l Bailey didn’t know what was going on. :-)

Besides all of this happening here this week-end, we had a slew of cruise ships docking. The weather was great (for a change) and everyone (according to reports) had a wonderful time, taking in all of the festivities.

Cricut stand filled up....

Hiya.

A lot of people have been asking me to show pix, w/ all of my cartridges inserted. Here they are:-

Starting from the top, showing the Cricut logo, done on transparencies and Mr. Cricut, himself, perched on top.

Because the cartridge(s) behind the ones in front are not noticeable, I placed a removable sticker on the left-hand side, notating which cartridge it is. I haven't quite figured out how I'm going to organize the cart's yet. It's definitely a "work in progress". Because the stickers are "removable", it allows me to move the cart's around, if I end up doing an "alpha" theme and buying a new cart.

Oh, I think there's something else at the very bottom of the stand. Ahhhhh, it's li'l Bailey. :-)

Any and all ideas you have, of how I can organize my cart's would be greatly appreciated. If you had this stand, how would you organize yours? --- alphabetically? by theme (fonts, shapes, etc?)?

I think I'm going to keep the Solution cart's (that I made covers for the VHS boxes) still on my wicker stand.

Someone wanted to know what the stand was originally used for. My hubby thinks it was to store boxes of either bras, panties, etc. Only a guy would think of something like that, eh? LOL

The reveal.......

Well, the guesses were pretty good but Bug Junkie hit the "nail on the head"! It's my new Cricut Cartridge Station. It holds 64 cartridges. I presently have them in different shelving units (white wicker shelves, flower shelf, but I've been running out of room for them. It was perfect timing to hit upon this awesome find. It's great, too, that it's on castors so I can move it out of the way when I want to use my sewing machine and extension table on the sewing cabinet.

Yesterday, I printed off the Cricut Bug logo on transparencies and attached them to the top four sections. It almost looks like they were "etched". Love it!! ;-) If you click on the picture, it should enlarge it.

Today, I cut out the Cricut Bug but was having a heck of a time trying to figure out how to attach him to the top. The top consists of only the four compartment units (w/ a hole in the centre). I had to figure out how to close up that hole so I could plunk Mr. Cricut on top. I came up w/ the idea of using some heavy acrylic, laying it across two of the sections, then placing the Bug on top of that. But HOW to place the Bug so he wouldn't topple over?? I originally started by making an L-shaped bracket out of acrylic, but he still wobbled. Then, I made a brace from the top of the L-shaped bracket to the bottom. It now resembled a right angle and was completely sturdy. Yeah!! Success!! Next, I gave Mr. Cricut Bug the place of honour on top of his Cricut Station. I made him so he looks the same from back/front so, when he rotates, I'm always looking at his cute li'l face instead of his rump. (tee-hee) Soooooo, now he rules his Cricut Station, just like Maxine rules the roost of the craft room! :-)

I wanted to mention that, when I got the unit, it was missing one castor (hence, price of $5.00), but hubby fixed that for me and it was "good to go". I cleaned it from top to bottom and discovered that it wasn't really that soiled. I really hit the "mother lode" when I found this li'l gem. I love it!!! :-)

I don't have a Gypsy nor even plan on getting one. I don't think my failing eyesight could handle the small screen, so I had to come up w/ a solution how to store my zillion cartridges and now I have! I am one verrrrrry happy li'l Cricuteer! :-)

My ULTIMATE Thrift Store Find......

Next to my flip-top desk, this next item has to be my ULTIMATE Thrift Store Find. :-)

I'm going to tease you a li'l, as to what I'm going to be using it for. Here are the first pix:-
