I won some more blog candy!!

OMG, I feel like the luckiest person in the world right now. This time, I won a beautiful hand-crafted recipe book from Agnes, of FlowerDisco's Scrap Hut. This gal is sooooooo creative/talented, you just have to check out her blog and her wonderful creations. :-)

Here is one pic I took of her, now my, book (& the pretty card she included):-

She has taken more pix and they can be found here:- http://flowerdiscosscraphut.blogspot.com/search/label/COOKBOOK%20PROJECT

Even tho the pix are great, they really don't do the book complete justice. Agnes has put so much detail, using every embellishment imaginable, into this book. The different textured, decorated paper, w/ the cuts having multi levels is simply gorgeous! I was sooooooo touched/thankful that I was the lucky recipient of this beautiful item.

Another great thing is that the colours Agnes incorporated into her book match my kitchen perfectly. Here is a pic of my "veggie cupboard", where you can see the similarity.

It was like it was "meant to be" for me to win this treasure! :-)

Thank you soooooooo much, again, Agnes!! Hugs to you!!!

My li'l corner of heaven.....

Thought I would "change it up" and share w/ you a li'l bit of my decor in my craft/sewing room. You can click on the pix to enlarge them.

This is as you enter my room. I have always loved owls, so had to have them in my room. Even had a "Mr. Blinkey" owl bank (instead of a piggy bank) when I was a kid. Mr. Blinkey would blink his eyes when coins were inserted. Cute!!!! Thing is.........I still have "Mr. Blinkey" stored away somewhere!! :-)

You may remember seeing a bit of Mary Engelbreit in my room. Here is her "Chair of Bowlies" wallhanging. Love the saying. Instead of: "Life is just a bowl of cherries" ----- hers is: "Life is just a chair of bowlies!" Hence, the chair w/ bowls on it. :-) Really suited me to a "T" when I was going thru some medical "hurdles" and would always bring a smile to my face. :-)

My sewing wall. I showcased my daughter's drawing before but, this time, you can see it more clearly when it is enlarged. She was a teenager when she drew/painted this for me. Touched my heart!!! :-)

I see that the pic above has some glare. Here's a better pic of her drawing....

Hope you all have a great week-end!! :-)

Can you guess which FOUR different things I have added to my blog?

BTW --- there's actually FIVE different things, but you only have to guess FOUR! ;-)

Maxine

Playing around w/ "Colour Splash" on PhotoBucket.......

Meet.......Maxine, who thinks she "rules the roost". Well, actually she does --- cuz this is what she actually says:-

* I could care less, but I'm workin' on it.
* I love my attitude problem.
* Don't worry, be crabby.

She arrived on my doorstep, via eBay, and I soooooo lucked out on her price. She was sold as not being able to talk, but DH did something to her innards and she talks up a storm. I wrote back to the seller and told her about it and she replied: "I guess Maxine likes living w/ you, rather than me." Tooooo funny/cute, eh?

Punch Storage

Hiya! A lot of crafters use the Bygel rail to store their punches. This can be purchased at IKEA. Click THIS for picture.

But, for those who don't have an IKEA near them (like me!) and don't want to order online, you can purchase something very similar at your local WallyWorld (Walmart). I got mine for less than $4.00 per rod, and it works like a charm.

Check it out.....

You'll notice that I have my singular punches facing backwards. I have mine on the back of a door and I find that they stay in the rod a li'l bit better than facing frontwards. (esp. w/ the movement of the door back/forth). If you were to have these rods on a wall, there would be no problem w/ having them face frontwards. It was just the added movement of the door swinging that may cause them to jump out of their postion(s). lol

Hope this helps someone! :-)

Tip for MS Ladybug Punch around the Page

Hiya! Hope everyone is enjoying their week-end. I went to a sewing/craft show yesterday and had an absolute ball. I've been to the sewing one a couple of times but, this year, they incorporated a craft showing. Vendors from all over Canada came to it. It was awesome.

I ended up w/ some goodies:- a GlueGlider Pro (which I've always wanted); some Core'dinations Paper (yahoo!); a Yo-Yo maker (yes, you heard right, LOL), and an owl Cuddlebug embossing folder. I was very pleased. :-)

So, I set off making my "Signature" Ladybug cards, using my GlueGlider Pro. I absolutely LOVE it. I do have an ATG but I think I like the GlueGlider better. I'm sure I'll prefer the ATG for other larger projects, tho.

Anyway, I was utilizing my MS Ladybug Punch around the Page punch and, instead of placing that on black paper, I just wanted to have black showing thru the ladybug dots so I came up w/ the idea of punching out some small black hearts and gluing them to the backside. Worked like a charm!! :-) Here's what I used and a pic of same:-

  • MS punch set

  • heart punch - 5/8" (came from a set but I'm sure they can be purchased separately)

  • Zig two-way glue

  • small scissors (to trim away the tips of the hearts)

Sorry, but I can't show you the finished card(s) cuz they're going out to some blogger friends! ;-)

Be sure to check it out..... Snowmanlover

eBay Song....

Hiya! I wanted to try my hand at inserting a video (for when, down the road, I'd be inputting my own created videos) but, for the time being, here's a pre-made one. It's the popular eBay song, done to the tune of the Backstreet Boys' "I Want it That Way".

I just love this eBay song cuz it fits me to a "T" --- right down to the A+++ for scoring someone.

For those who have never heard/seen it, I hope you enjoy it, too! :-)

Make sure you turn off my I-Pod, before clicking on the video. ;-)

Li'l "funny ha-ha" ......

Someone in "Canuck"ville sent Ellen this picture, for her segment: "What's wrong with these photo's photos".......

Co-operation

Her comment was:- "I have no idea what they’re doing, but they’re smiling --- so they’re doing it right! It’s nice they co-operate." giggle giggle giggle

Cute, eh? :-)

Blog tip for "newbies"

I'm sure most of you are already aware of this, but for those who aren't.......

Did you know there was a way of being notified each time someone left a comment on your blog? Well, I wasn't aware of this, until just recently. There were a few times when I missed comments that "new followers" and/or "new visitors" had left on previous posts. I tried to scout them out but it meant reading every post I had posted and trying to remember how many comments had previously been left on that particular post. My memory just isn't what it used to be (lol) so I was finding this verrrrrrry difficult, not to mention time-consuming! lol

Then, I decided to do some sleuthing and this is what I discovered:-

On Blogger (or I'm sure other accounts are similar), do the following:-

  1. while logged into your blog, click on "Customize"

  2. go into the "Posting" tab and click on "Comment Moderation"

  3. then click on "Comment Settings"

  4. scroll down to the very bottom where it says:- "Comment Notification E-mail"

  5. insert your e-mail addy

  6. click on "save settings"

You will now receive an e-mail each time someone leaves a comment on your blog. Not only that, but the e-mail notification will let you know which post the comment was left on. You can even read the comments in your e-mail, w/out going back to your blog each time.

Now, how cool is that, eh? :-) I shouted "Eureka" when I discovered this! LOL Hope it helps someone else!

Cherry Blossoms

I've been soooo intrigued by those who have gotten into digi scrapbooking and/or taking photographs and jazzing them up w/ colour, by using Photo Editor, etc.

Sooooo, I decided to give it a go, utilizing Photo Editor. I chose the photo I took in January of a beautiful sunset, but w/ a sparse/sad looking tree. Here's the original shot.....

Using Photo Editor, I added beautiful pink cherry blossoms on the tree, changed the sky colour to blue/grey and the grass to green. Didn't I do a great job??

JUST KIDDIN' ---- the picture/colours/scenery were created by none other than God and/or Mother Nature. (I just took another picture of it! --- tee-hee)

Gotcha, eh? LOL LOL

I'd still like to get into digi scrapbooking, tho --- especially the Stampin' Up one. Does anyone know where I could get a copy for a reasonable price? I u/stand that the US won't sell to Canada and here it's $110.00. :-(

Yipppeeee! I won some Blog Candy!!

I won amazing Blog Candy over at Michele’s blog : http://scrap-n-dance.blogspot.com/

Thanks so much to Michele for offering this!! It was a gift certificate to Oh My Crafts ~ and I could choose any cart. I wanted. It was really hard to choose, but I chose “Sentimentals”. I love the li’l owl on it. Isn't he just the cutest --- holding a li'l note?! The other designs on it are cute, as well, and I can't wait to play. :-)

If you haven't been to Michele’s blog, I suggest you go there straight away! She does amazing work!!

Check out her latest design of incorporating the Martha Stewart “iron gate” Around the Page punch into a Cricut cut file. She even made it into a “circle”. How cool is that, eh? And….she’s offering the cut files for both the Gypsy and those who don’t have one --- for Design Studio. Very kind of her!

Thanks, again, Michele! I love my blog candy!! :-)

I've been given the Beautiful Blogger Award!!

OMG, I've been given yet another award. This time, the "Beautiful Blogger" award, by the sweet Mary aka ScrappingGrandma. I'm wondering if she forgot that she had already given me the Sunshine Blog award?! But, nonetheless, I feel totally honored to have received this award and now I'm going to get a swelled head! LOL

I told this to my hubby and he said:- "I'm not sure whose head will be swelling the most --- yours or Bailey's". LOL (Bailey has been getting a lot of compliments that he's either cute/adorable/sweet/precious, from complete strangers, whilst on our walks.)
