Journey of a Craft/Sewing Room

Hi there. Hope you’re all having a great week-end.

I’ve decided to post pix of my messy craft/sewing room to embarrass me into cleaning it up. I did this once on a Message Board and people were very kind in offering me various suggestions as to how to accomplish this but, as it turned out, I ended up going thru a rough spot (w/ my previous furbaby) and it never got done. Needless to say, it actually became worse. As I was doing different projects, everything just kept piling up. So now I’m putting it out there in “cyberland” and enough is enough!! I am going to clean this room up, once and for all. No more procrastinating – I’m just going to DO it!! I’m going to take pix, as I go along. Maybe it will motivate me even more. And…..if you’re in a similar situation, it may help you.

O.K. here we go. First……close your eyes while I show you what it REALLY looks like. Then…..keep your eyes shut for a few weeks. Just kiddin’. LOL I’m going to let “everything hang out”, so if you would like to “hop on this train”, fasten your seat belt and come along for the ride. It’s going to be a “bumpy” one, tho! :-)

As you can see (from previous pix I’ve posted), my craft mess has “spread”. It’s taken on a life of its own! But I’m going to corral it and whip it into shape. :-) I promise, tho, that no craft items will be harmed during this process. :-)

Unsettling, isn’t it?? :-( It’s true. I can’t even walk into the room, let alone craft or sew in it. Every surface has something on it. I bet you can’t even see my sewing cabinet, eh? Each time I look at my room, it stifles my creativity and messes w/ my sewing mojo! :-(

But…… it is, what it is! I just need to change that! It will definitely be a “work in progress” and I have no idea how long it will take to accomplish.

You can click on the pix to enlarge!

another desk (the flip-top one)....

my sewing cabinet is underneath here..... very sad!! :-(

underneath here, too!.......

my Cricut station..... (just a plain ol' catch-all now).....

Can you see my "one and only" JetMax cube peeking thru?? :-)

there's a table under this mess.....

other side of the table.....

Soooo, not a very pretty sight, eh? I warned you! and, yes, I'm very embarrassed about it! But….I also feel, when one is fortunate enough to have a dedicated area in their home for crafting, that space should be honoured. For years, I had to craft on either the dining room table or the coffee table and, now that I have my own room, I need to “get it back”!

This is my journey to do just that!! :-)

    Hugs, sweetie!

  2. holy smokes you can open a little scrap store with all that stuff. I wish mine looked like that because it would mean I was in there playing with my stuff.

  3. Linda...shame on you! you have such a beautiful room and every thing in the market and more... A crafters paradise some where in there, lol.I thought I was a shop-a-holic but you win. hehehe. i would love to be there with you and help you and get your crumbs too, lol

I do agree with you...you have to take things out of the room first and then start the process again and label all you can.
